Can I ask why the word Guru has been removed from most of the Sabha’s and Bhawan’s, is this a mistake.

    Sat Sri Akal,
As I was reading about controversy about Hindu text edits, I was saddened by when I saw Sikhs being divided, referred and categornized into class and caste basis such as “Californian Dalit Sikh temples such as the Guru Ravi Dass Gurdwara.[12]“. This goes totally against teachings of Guru Granth Sahib and banis of all of great Saints, Bhagats. I just wish people would stop this practise of taking pride in their castes and classes. A gurudwara is a gurdwara and a Sikh is a Sikh, be it a Rajput, Lohar, Jatt, Tarkhan, Majhbi, Gora, Kala, Chinese, American, Indian, Punjabi, a president, a beggar, a king or a queen and so on. I don’t understand why people stuck with this false prides and egos. Another practise and trend that bother me is people with caste names running Gurdwaras. It should be just a Singh or a Kaur or a Khalsa or may be viallge name. It just shows ignorance among people about their own faith.

Just would like to add that I attend all of local Gurdwaras like Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Pittsburgh California, El Sobrante Sikh Temple, Fremont Sikh Temple besides others occasionally. I only see Sikhs of the Guru Ji.

I Congratulate Sardar Manjit Singh Ji to write such a beautiful Paragraph on Sikhism. A Sikh is a true sikh if he is not into any caste , colour , state etc. My caste is Chawla and till today I am 45 years of age and I dont know much about my caste , yes I AM A SIKH . One thing is for sure when Khalsa was formed , when Guru Gobind Singh Ji asked sacrifise of Panj Pyaras , out of 5 pyaras 3 were from lower Caste. Guru Gobind Singh Ji told that they were the TRUE SIKHS the true KHALSAS rest 2 were a Khatri and a Jaat were also True Sikhs.
